UK Queens Of Riot VENUS GRRRLS Release Powerful & Uncompromising New Single ‘Liar Liar’

VENUS GRRRLS, an alternative rock band who combine twinkling synth motifs to raspy guitar lines, always aim to display dark themes by using empowering language surrounding their own experiences.

Liar Liar is available now everywhere. The brand-new single tells an important story, written from the abuser’s grip whilst still displaying the belief that people can find themselves again and have an empowering life.

Speaking about the new single, lead singer Grace Kelly (GK) said, “It took some time to finish, both lyrically and instrumentally. The topic was something that I wanted to make sure was adequately represented despite its vast nature.”

“The idea was that the ‘narrator’, of the song has become aware of the dynamic of another relationship. Spotting patterns of emotional manipulation and abuse, the narrator seeks to not only empower the victim but to let the perpetrator know that they’ve figured out what’s happening”.

VENUS GRRLS, born from Riot Grrrl, made their comeback earlier this year with their single Lidocaine which reflected on GK’s recovery from Leukemia. Since then, they have gone on to achieve two Spotify editorial covers, five Spotify editorial playlists, along with being Track of the Week on BBC Radio Tees.

The girls have been praised by several radio stations for speaking out on important issues, with Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1 saying, “This is what I’m talking about, by being bold in your music”.

Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music backed this up by describing them as, “A band who sound like they really want to make things happen; to affect some kind of change”.

Now, with their live shows in motion, VENUS GRRRLS are quickly becoming a large force in the world.
