Shania Twain returns to London’s Hyde Park for the first time in 21 years to bring a country party to BST Hyde Park 2024. But she didn’t come alone, bringing prominent female artists from past and present to support her.
With the likes of Nell Mescal, The Corrs, Elle King, Natalie Imbruglia and Anne-Marie spreading a little sunday sunshine across the days various stages and building anticipation for the one and only Shania.
She kicks off her headline set with a barn storming Don’t be stupid (you know I love you) turning Hyde Park into a mass of dancing feet and cowboy hats as far as the eye can see. Pretty early Shania addresses the crowd and confirms she is suffering from a cold, which visibly and noticeably affects her vocal performance tonight. With that said, and perhaps in spite of it, she is more than up for it this evening and puts in a hell of a shift as she tears through nearly three decades worth of bangers and ballads. Igniting the crowd in tender sing-a-longs to You’re still the one and Come on over , to full on hoedowns with Any man of mine, and Whose bed have your boots been under?

The set really hits its stride in the finale as Shania absolutely brings the house down with some colossal hits, including the ballad to end all ballads From this moment on, which leads directly into That don’t impress me much, saving Man! I feel like a woman for the very end, making sure to send everyone home with mile wide grins on their faces.
Vocal issues and illness aside, this was everything you could hope for from an artist of Shania Twain’s caliber. Nearly two hours of solid gold hits played with so much passion and energy to a crowd that totally ate it up. 27 years on from her breakthrough album, she continues to prove time and time again why she is considered a legend. I don’t know about anyone else, but tonight’s performance certainly impressed me very much.
