Cork-born, alt trailblazer Bambie Thug (they/them/fae) has returned with their brand-new single REDRUM, out now via Spinefarm Records. The release marks the beginning of a bold new chapter, alongside the announcement of a worldwide deal with Spinefarm and a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.
The single arrives after a huge European arena tour with Baby Metal and Poppy, as well as a spellbinding debut at Glastonbury earlier this year. Bambie is quickly building a reputation as one of the most fearless voices in the alternative scene.
The Making of REDRUM
Produced by Shaun Lopez (††† & Deftones), REDRUM blends sinister guitar riffs and pounding drums with Bambie’s signature screams. The result is both protest and empowerment, creating a raw anthem for the queer community and other marginalised groups.
Bambie explained how the track came together:
“REDRUM nearly wasn’t a thing, because Shaun wasn’t going to show me the beat! But when he did, I immediately knew it needed to be mine. I spent the night in my hotel watching news and protest footage, screaming ideas into my headphones, probably disturbing the neighbours.
The track became a political statement, an anti-war song, and ultimately a rebel cry for the LGBTQIA community and anyone who feels disconnected in today’s world. All I can offer in these turbulent times is my art, and I hope it wakes people up.”
The release follows as extraordinary year. Bambie’s Crown The Witch headline tour hit 31 dates across Europe, alongside arena support for Baby Metal and festival slots at Glastonbury, Download, and Electric Picnic.
It’s also the first new music since 2023’s Fantasy and Hex So Heavy, building on the global success of their Eurovision 2024 entry, Doomsday Blue. Representing Ireland, Bambie placed 6th , which was the country’s best result in 24 years, with the track charting across Europe and landing their first UK Top 100 entry.
Self-described as Ouija-pop, Bambie’s music blends pop, rock, and electronic. Their theatrical live shows and striking visuals – from occult-inspired aesthetics to otherworldly transformations – have made them one of the most exciting disruptors in alternative music today.
With REDRUM, Bambie Thug delivers their most uncompromising statement yet – a track that doubles as both a protect and performance. It’s fierce, fearless, and a reminder of the power art can hold in turbulent times.
