In Pictures: The Blackout with Dead Pony at O2 Forum Kentish Town, London, 24th February 2024

After making their live return at Download Festival’s 20th anniversary festival in 2023, welsh emo, rockers The Blackout came back for even more with a 2024 tour. The five-day run took them to Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, Birmingham and London, which is where we caught them at a packed O2 Forum Kentish Town.

Even after vocalist Gavin Butler had a fall earlier in the trip, follower by a to A&E, which resulted in his foot being strapped up for the remainder of the tour, The Blackout proved just exactly why they’re back where they belong – hopefully their Slam Dunk appearances in May won’t be the last we’ve seen of them?

Support for the tour came from Glasgow’s Dead Pony, who we definitely recommend as one to watch! They’re debut album, Ignore This, will be out this summer and they’ll also be back out on the road in May supporting Kid Kapichi, followed by a heavy festival season with appearances at a variety of festivals including Takedown, 2000trees and Reading and Leeds! We’re expecting to see big things from them and even Sean Smith himself said so!
