With the release of Top Gun: Maverick just around the corner Lady Gaga has shared brand new track and music video for Hold My Hand. Produced by Lady Gaga and BloodPop© with additional production by Benjamin Rice, the track written for the feature also has an additional motion picture version with score by Harold Faltermeyerand and Academy Award-winner Hans Zimmer.
Gaga is no stranger to writing and producing original music for the big screen. With the success of 2018’s A Star Is Born soundtrack, Gaga earned an Academy Award, four Grammys, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and Critics’ Choice Award. Supporting the release of Hold My Hand, the video for the track was directed by Top Gun:Maverick’s director Joe Kosinski. Showing off epic scenery from the new film, as well as pulling nostalgia from the 1986 release, there’s a definitive buzz for both the film and the track.
On Instagram, Lady Gaga said: “I wanted to say that I wrote the song for the INCREDIBLE movie #topgun #topgunmaverick but also for people who feel like they’re not gonna be ok or WE ARE never gonna be ok and that life taught me through hard times to have faith in humanity when it’s hard to have faith in yourself
When you feel lonely, sad, removed from the world, far away from yourself and others #holdmyhand One day you may even be strong enough to hold your own . I love you with my whole heart for all the years I’ve been blessed to sing, write songs, produce and perform for you. Thank you here we go!!!”
