British singer-songwriter Will Young, has today announced his brand new podcast, The Wellbeing Lab. This new venture will explore mental health with the aid of listeners and experts, with a new episode released every Tuesday for 10 weeks. Following this, Will’s forthcoming book, Be Yourself and Happier: The A-Z of Wellbeing, will be out on 21st April via Penguin Books.

No stranger to the podcasting world having previously hosted critically-acclaimed and award winning Homo Sapiens podcast, The Wellbeing Lab will put a focus on discussions with experts on a variety of topics. Ranging from shopping addictions, creating boundaries, body dysmorphia, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), trauma, and obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD). There will be something to hit home with a range of people and offer a bit of solidarity and community in what can be such a difficult thing to live with. As well as talking to experts, the podcast will include interaction with listeners who are encouraged to write in and share their personal experiences.

Discussing the podcast, Will says: “It’s such an important subject close to my heart and I’m really looking forward to shining a light on topics that aren’t as talked about around mental health and well being. I’m really excited to interact with the listeners as well as chatting to experts in the field and show that through connection, we can all find a lot more happiness and peace.”

With The Wellbeing Lab, Will aims to create a safe, fun, curious and understanding space. Presenting in such a way that allows it to feel accessible and understanding for everyone, it looks set to really help break down stigmas around mental health.

No stranger to discussing mental health, Young wrote and released his mental health driven project, To Be A Gay Man, in 2020 and this forthcoming release will see him continue to write and explore the subject. Created with wit and wisdom, it’s set to show off a huge level of personal vunerablilties and along the way dig into how everyday life can affect our wellbeing, how we can navigate our emotions, where they come from and how to create a balanced mindset, offering practical techniques we can all use to ground ourselves and set boundaries.
