Twin Atlantic are getting fans hyped up for their highly anticipated new album Transparency by sharing brand new single Dirty. This infectious new track is teasing the start of a brand new chapter in the Scot’s prolific career.

Highlighting the seediness and corruption of fame and success, the riff heavy track sees Twin Atlantic enter an even darker realm. While having a rough and ready delight of guitar riffs, it’s more funky and electric feel pulls through just as strong. With vocalist Sam McTrusty’s beautifully Scottish vocals shining through, you can hear the passion and energy going into each word sung.

“Dirty is one of those songs that was just so fun to write and record. It’s a song that’s been in the Twin Atlantic camp for a few years, so was written pre lockdown when Ross and I were going to the studio everyday,” Sam said of the track.

This new track follows on from recent releases, Get Famous and the hugely charismatic Bang On The Gong, a truly funky track that will get so quickly ingrained in your brain, much like everything else Twin Atlantic put out.

“I went through a stage of saying everything was “dirty” when it was good, to the point of the ridiculous, so when this type of song started to come together I wanted to make fun of that. Everything else in the song is themed after that, things that on the surface are great, but have a darker background. After more than 10 years of making sincere, heartfelt and almost serious music it was a big relief to just have fun with all the songs people have heard from Transparency so far.”

We can expect Sam McTrusty spilling it all. With everything ranging from marriage, male friendship and the absurdity of social media, to parenthood, medication and his mum. Created in strained circumstances and recorded remotely with Sam’s mate and mentor Jacknife Lee, the album arrived more by accident than design, when the world went into lockdown last spring.

Sam says; “After the challenges put in front of everyone in 2020 and 2021 I did what I’ve always done in moments of turmoil, stress or anxiety and started to write songs. It slowly evolved into an album and something we feel puts a new stamp on our band which really excites us.”

Transparency is an album that is begging to be loud, live and unapologetically. It’s going to be a huge amount of fun to listen to start to finish and dance like no ones watching.

The band delivered a triumphant UK tour earlier this year, welcoming hungry fans back with a rapturous sold out headline show at London’s Electric Ballroom. 2022 will see them embark on a fresh run of shows in May across the UK, with dates including London’s Roundhouse and Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland to celebrate 10 years of their career-changing Free album.
