After ending on the BBC in 2015, Never Mind the Buzzcocks is finally returning to our screens. Moving over to Sky and NOW streaming services, the iconic music themed panel show will be back with actor and comedian Greg Davies presenting. Fans will be treated to eight fourty-five minute episodes; alongside a Christmas special.
The Sky Original will return to screens in autumn of this year with Noel Fielding and Daisy May Cooper as team captains. Joining the cast each week, Jamali Maddix will feature as a regular guest. Each week, teams will be joined by top music and comedy stars, competing against each other. Fans of the original series can expect the same levels of unpredictability and best loved rounds as well as brand new surprises thrown in.
Greg Davies said: “I have always loved Never Mind the Buzzcocks and am thrilled to be the new host on Sky. We have brilliant comedic talent on the team and plenty of exciting musical guests will be joining us.”
Originally hosted by Mark Lamarr until 2005 before Simon Amstell took the reins, the show is something that truly stands out. Over the years, the show featured a range of incredible guest hosts that gave over a decade of iconic moments. With Production company Talkback returning, this reboot should have a similar look and feel to the comedy show we all love and remember.
Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment for Sky, Phil Edgar-Jones, said: “Buzzcocks is one of those truly iconic shows and to be bringing it back with Greg Davies at the helm, alongside Daisy May Cooper, Noel Fielding and Jamali Maddix is a buzz and a treat for lovers of tuneless humming everywhere.”
You can catch the brand new Never Mind the Buzzcocks this Autumn on Sky and NOW streaming services.
