Superlove have just dropped their brand new EP “…but for the moment” released via Rude Records. Written throughout lockdown, the band wanted to write something that gave them and the music they write a challenge.

Consisting of five short and sweet tracks, Superlove have put something together that you’ll want to take the time to listen to start to finish. Opening track, 8am (The Start) gives off a totally different vibe to other tracks you may have heard before. Moving away from the more pop punk sound this track gives off Enter Shikari vibes and a great introduction to a new sound.

Following on, The People You’ll Love Forever, has a more pop punk sound to it and is bursting with optimism. While listening to the track you can’t help but picture yourself at a small concert venue dancing and singing along.

Talking about the track, the band said:“To take the pop production we love so much further into guitar music was definitely something we wanted to incorporate into this song. The song itself is about the people in our lives that will always mean something to us even though we don’t always get to show it and how we like to imagine what we would have done and said different if given the opportunity to speak to them again. We hope the music in the track feels more uplifting to people than any track we’ve released before even though the lyrics are supposed to tap into that sinking feeling of nostalgia whist written in a very controversial style.”

btw! i adore u offers a heavier intro and bounces between a bubblier pop sound as the song progresses, keeping you on your toes throughout. Throwing you straight in at the deep end on the next track NOT ME! NOT YOU! is one for fans of something a bit heavier.

Ending the EP we’re given a remix of previous release Untouchable, an already hugely catchy track, which has been given a summer party make over. From start to finish you’re not really sure where this EP is going to take you, but you know it’s going to be a fun ride. If you’re hoping to catch Superlove and hear these songs live, then you’re in luck! Over the summer the band will be on the road, touring with Gold Bloom and With Confidence.
