Tonight London’s iconic 02 Arena played host to the Brit Awards 2021, providing us with an evening of actual live music that saw performances from the likes of Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift and many more.

Hosted by Jack Whitehall with an audience made up of well-deserving key workers, the event was not only a highlight for music fans, but also a test event for bringing live music and large events back.

Following the two-hour show we’ve compiled some of our highlights, as well as a list of all of the winners from the night.

1. Little Mix made history in becoming the first female group to win best British Group and alongside thanking former member Jesy, said that the award was for all female groups including the likes of the Spice Girls, All Saints, Sugababes and more.

2. Dua Lipa accepting two awards calling on Boris Johnson to pay NHS workers more, saying clapping isn’t enough on receiving the first and then recognising the bravery of Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole, who lost his life when saving a woman who was drowning in the Thames and calling for him to be awarded for his bravery.

3. Olly Alexander and Elton John’s performance of It’s A Sin.

4. That mesmerising Zoom performance from The Weeknd of Save Your Tears.

5. Taylor Swift accepting her Global Icon award and saying how much she loved Game of Thrones and wanting to hug Maisie Williams who presented her with the award (but obviously didn’t because of social distancing.)

6. The beautiful performance by P!NK, Rag’n’Bone Man and the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir.
