Released today, 16-year-old musician and climate activist NWRVR has released a new single in support of Earth Day 2021. The two-track single titled Hypochondriac is out now via NWRVR’s own label, Mislabel.

The double single drop which includes tracks Hypochondriac and Plastic Bag follows on from NWRVR’s debut EP, The Train is Coming released in 2021. Frantic strings coupled with powerful vocals on Hypochondriac reveal an ever-evolving craft – sophisticated in a manner far beyond NWRVR’s years, whereas Plastic Bag is further evidence of the young artist’s talent in creating deeply moving compositions.

Speaking of the newest lead single, which has been released to coincide with Earth Day, an annual event that demonstrates support for environmental protection of planet earth, the singer and climate activist states “Climate change is the biggest threat to existence as we know it that humanity has ever faced. Hypochondriac is an expression of the anger, grief, terror and shame I feel about the crisis, as well as being an act of protest and hope on Earth Day. I’m not a politician or a scientist – music is how I communicate, so this project is just an outlet for all these feelings, all this overwhelming emotion, that maybe someone will be able to relate to on some level. I just want to turn this existential dread into something good.”

Hypochondriac is out now via all DSPs and is the second full release in NWRVR’s discography. With more music on the way in 2021, NWRVR will continue to collaborate with a close-knit team of creatives across artistic disciplines from film, art, design and more, including Rebecca and Mike who contributed the NWRVR logo, covers, other art ideas and provocations.
